Kaiden's first cold

Well, Kaiden is sick. He started out being really fussy and crying a lot. So, we thought he was either gassy or had colic. So, off to Wal-mart we went to buy some gas meds. We gave him mylicon, and he was still fussy. Next day, I realized why. He couldn't breath. He started doing a lot of snorting and gasping for air. The next morning, it was worse after being up all night long with him so I called the doctor's office. Waited all day and finally had to call them back again- and they told me there was nothing they could do b/c he was too young to give meds. To shoot saline in his nose and suction him out and run the humidifier. So, I started sucking his nose out. Nothing much was coming out. I had forgot all about the humidifier. I finally dug it out and got it going. He is breathing somewhat better now, but still snoring, but not snorting quite as bad. You can hear the rattling in his chest still, but he has started coughing and it sounds like it is starting to break up some. We bought a battery operated nasal aspirator, and it is still not pulling anything out. But we have only had the humidifier working for one night, so hopefully since it is starting to break up some, within the next few days hopefully I can get some of that stuff out of him!!!
He sounds horrible. And i just want my baby to feel better soon!!!

Kaiden's Two week check-up

Okay, so off to Dr. Patz we went this morning. They weighed Kaiden and he weighed 8 lbs and 12 oz!!!!! WOW! My little piglet is growing fast!!! He was down to 6 lbs and 10 oz when we were at Dr. Patz office the day after we left the hospital!!! So, that is a gain of 2 lbs and 2 oz in two weeks. I asked the doc if that was too big a weight gain at once, and he said no. The measured him, and he is now 21 3/4 inches long!!! HOLY COW!!! He was only 19.5 inches when he was born. Dang! How do you grow 2.25 inches in only two weeks? Did they measure him correctly at the hospital?? Ha. I am sure they did. I can't believe how fast he is growing. Dr. Patz checked lil' man out thoroughly and said he looks good- or absolutley perfect as he stated!!! We don't go back to see him until he is two months old. No shots this time, but he did get his heal poked again. He hates that! I guess they all do!!
